Post surgery rehab following hip or knee replacement

Joint Replacement Clinic

Having a knee or hip replacement is a major step, but with the right support it can truly transform your life. After surgery, following a personalised rehabilitation program is essential to maximising your recovery.

At Precision Health Care, we work closely with local specialists and remain up to date with the latest research to ensure you receive the highest standard of care in post-surgery rehab.

What is the Joint Replacement Clinic?

Rehab following hip or knee replacement surgery

Our Joint Replacement Clinic provides structured rehabilitation sessions for people recovering from hip or knee replacement surgery. Led by a physiotherapist or exercise physiologist in a supportive small-group setting, you’ll complete targeted exercises tailored to your stage of recovery. Key measures are monitored regularly, so you and your clinician can track your progress and work towards the best possible outcome.

The group environment also offers encouragement and connection with others on a similar journey. Many people find it more motivating than exercising alone, and it provides a more cost-effective alternative to one-to-one treatment.

If you’re considering hip or knee replacement, we recommend speaking with us about our GLA:D® Osteoarthritis program before making a decision.

What to expect

How the Joint Replacement Clinic works

Rehabilitation sessions will be completed in a small-group setting in our fully equipped gym. You will rotate through individual exercise stations under the close supervision of a physiotherapist. This model will give you the benefit of one-to-one clinical oversight with the motivation and support of a group environment.

Assessment

Your physiotherapist or exercise physiologist will complete an assessment and designs a program tailored to your surgery, goals and current abilities.

Exercise program development

Exercises will focus on improving joint range of motion, muscle strength, balance, walking and everyday function.

Ongoing monitoring

Your progress will be monitored at each visit, with regular measurements so you can see improvements over time.

Gradual progression

Programs will be progressed gradually to keep you challenged while staying safe.
